Date: 550 - 475 BC


Large lamp with streaked black glaze to upper surfaces, characteristic central conical tube, and short nozzle. Flat base.

Manufacture: Wheel-made

Size: Length 10.6 cm

Comments:
The central tube of this type of lamp allowed it to be securely mounted on the tapered spike (pricket) of a stand.

Provenance:
Ex collection of Robert Flourance, Virginia USA, acquired 1970s-80s.
