Roman lamp with Cupid and wreaths

Period: Late Roman

Origin: North Africa

Date: Mid to late 4th century AD


Early example of a North African Red Slipware lamp with a charming depiction of Cupid holding a floral wreath in each hand. Palm-branch border on shoulder. Pierced handle.


Size: Length 11 cm (4")

Condition: Some surface loss on underside as seen.
